The Swiss designer found the inspiration for his Spring/Summer 2013 collection in his familiy: Zigerli’s father was a pilot. Classic shapes of his father’s uniforms and bags are reinterpreted in his current looks. In preparation for the collection, Zigerli watched the action movie ‘Top Gun’ starring Tom Cruise that starts ’somewhere in the Indian Ocean’.
For the collection ‘My Daddy Was a Military Pilot’ Julian Zigerli worked together with Berlin-based artist Fabian Fobbe. With addressing the reference point ‘water’ in his print designs, he evokes distinct connotations of reflecting light on water. ‘My Daddy Was a Military Pilot’ is a tribute to technology, speed, and to breaking through limits. I have only one commento about this collection “I love it, because looks powerful and comfortable”.
